Hi guys, I posted a question on 9/3/15 about the size and thread count of the early V8 spedo housing that is attached to our driveshaft housing. That fitting that the cable attaches to is a 7/8 size with a thread count of 18 threads per inch. In case any of you have damaged threads that is what you need to repair them. There was 121 looks and no replies to my question.

Dale T - It's a shame this website/forum does not seem to attract or get much support from the many Flathead Ford enthusiasts out there....I think it would be wise for the EFV8 Club to try to merge this site/forum with the www.FordBarn.com site....

DaleT maybe you could find a sae thread file and maybe you could straighten the threads with that. Get one that covers 18 threads per inch. Hope this helps.
Regards Eddie

I concur with Eddie. If only a few threads are damaged, a thread file will make easy work of this task. In fact, being the housing is soft white metal, a single edge thread file will also do the trick IF enough of the original thread remains. If your speedometer gear housing is really "buggered" up, perhaps it's time to find a replacement?
