What did Ford use behind the 1940 dash to hold the instrument cluster in place? I know there's 4 studs on the back of the dash, but what sort of clamp/bracket was attached?

It's been a while since I've been under my dash but best I can recall; It's just 4 flat tabs maybe 1/2 inch wide and long enough to swing down/up to hold the cluster. Nothing fancy or complicated.
