How do I know the RPM on my 35Ford is there a company that makes hand held ones that are not to expensive,and what RPM shoul my car idle at? Thanks

knowing the rpm is not necessary. Take the idle down to a pleasant smooth purr, without any lope. The idle rpm is not a critical setting.

A vacuum gauge is a good tool to set idle speed. After obtaining the desired rpm, usually around 500-600, adjust the idle needles for maximum stable reading.

When flying radio controlled air planes I had a hand held tach. You just held it in front of the prop.This was 30 years ago.
