VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Have a 39 Deluxe Tudor with the 221 cu.in. flathead. Factory carb. ..... starts immediately when engine is cold. If I turn it off almost immediately, it will not restart for maybe 15-30 min. Then it starts easily and runs well. But next time I turn it off, it won’t start again for awhile. It currently has gas with ethanol in the tank. Could that be the problem ?
Can’t drive with any traffic ( country roads only ). Afraid I might kill the engine and not be able to restart it.
Your thoughts and advice will be much appreciated !

hard starting HOT.
I had the same problem with my 37,,
sent the coi and distributer to SKIP . to get rebuilt
PROBLEM SOLVED.
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT,,,,
also make sure all your battery connections and electrical conection on the ign switch and resister, are clean and tight,

Try replacing the condenser first, it is a likely suspect if the car won't restart after a quick start-stop.
Skip's coils are the best if the condenser does not solve the problem.

To pile on to what was already said above:
Both the coil and condenser often work fine when cold but then get weak when warm. (not necessarily under-hood warmth; they get warm from electrical load while operating)

You could check the condition of the spark when cold by holding a plug lead near a head bolt while cranking. Should get a nice blue spark about 1/2 inch long. Then check again when engine is not wanting to start. If spark looks weak, you have diagnosed the problem.

Agree condenser is the easiest and cheapest to change to see if that was the problem.
Also agree a coil rebuilt by Skip Haney is better than any new aftermarket coil. See a recent post here with contact info on Skip.

Check the spark after starting the engine and let it run until ut is at operating temperature. It should be blue in color and about 1/2" long at idle. If it is orange in color follow the advice in the previous posts.

If the spark is OK, remove the air cleaner, shut off the engine and look down the carburetor throat. If you see fuel dribbling out, the carburetor needs to be rebuilt. Send it to Charley Schwendler in NY.

If you do not see fuel dribbling out, try holding the gas pedal to the floor and cranking the engine.

Slow cranking with warm or hot engine can be caused by a hot starter. Located just below an exhaust manifold, it can get heated to the point that the resistance in the windings increases considerably, reducing the current. Worn bushings may allow the armature to contact the pole shoes, causing a drag. Replacing the starter with a rebuilt unit is the best cure.
