I had my brakes relined for my '36 Ford touring sedan 4dr. Now I cannot get the drum to fit over the new reline. What can I do to get the drum to fit? They are the original rod brakes.

I had the same problem. Turned out my NOS drums were 12.000 and the supplier that did the relining assumed that everybody's drums would be out at least .030. I sent the shoes back to the suppler and they arced them for the 12.000 drums and they worked fine. It is hard to find someone to do this other than a place that does relining as a business. Try contacting your local EFV8 club and see if there is someone the members use. Charlie Stephens

Flatfoot: Where are you located?? Some put sandpaper inside the drums and then rub the shoes on the paper to "arc" them. Use a rough grit. Just an idea. Are the adjusters backed all the way off?? Paul in CT

Yes the adjusters are backed off. Probably need to have them arced. Thank you for responding.
