What did Ford offer for the 1953 Ford F-100 with the V-8 for an overdrive? Was it available as a three speed column shift transmission or just on the four speed floor? Thank You.

It was the three speed column shift. The four speed floor shift just had 4 speeds rather than three. High gear in a four speed was simply the one to one ratio.

Next question is if it was the same as the passenger car 3 speed overdrive and can the solenoid be adapted to a 12 volt conversion?

The 6V overdrive solenoid will have to be replaced by a 12V solenoid. They are available new from Randy Rundle at Fifth Avenue Antique Auto Parts. His number is 785-632-3450. New ones are a bit pricy. Used ones can sometimes be found at swap meets but may not work for very long.
