Is there a way to tell the difference between original and reproduction 34 Ford bumpers?

Give it a good swift kick. If it's original, it'll knock you on your... But, if it's a repop, it'll bend.

And I should probably do it when no one is looking? Would prefer a "non-destructive" test, if possible.

Generally the originals have some stamped markings on the back. usually letters like "U" or "C". You will find no stamped marking on the back of the repos.

I had reproductions with the "C" stamped in them. Is there a test with magnets?
1934 Ford's since 1972

Both originals and repos are made of steel, so a magnet test will not work. The originals are spring steel and the repos are not. I don't recall seeing repos with markings on the back. Having a letter on the back must be something that has recently been done on repos.
