Dale, There are two springs within the latch assembly and one more in the remote latch. I'd strongly suggest you replace all three as long as you plan on replacing the broken one. If you need tips on how to go about this project, let me know. Carpenter sells the springs. The two for the latch are: 81a-702267-pr. $11 The one for the remote is b-702268, $7

Greetings Mike I will need your input on changing out the door latch springs. Any insight you can provide will be appreciated. I continue to learn and it seems like on an accelerated basis, but enjoy every project Thks again Dale

Dale, It's actually a fairly easy task. There are a number of small tabs that must be bent upward in order to open both the latch mechanism and the remote mechanism. It's imperative that you heat the small tabs red hot directly prior to bending them. If you don't the chance of them breaking is nearly 100%. I suggest you heat them when reinstalling as well. When you begin to disassemble the parts, you may want to photograph what you have. Or, most likely your memory is better than mine and that won't be necessary. That's about it

Dale, If by chance you do break a tab or two, don't fret. You can tack weld the assembly together.
