You will notice that the top mounts in the picture Old Henry sent mount through the rear crossmember. I don't know what year model you are going to install them on, but I don't think they are a direct fit for earlier model cross members. I put a set on my '38 and had to lengthen the part the goes through the crossmember by about 3/4". Various suppliers have the type that just bolts the the front flange of he crossmember.

C&G (800/266-0470) has the tube shock kits. For '48, the rear kit is 11A-18125-KIT, $212.95 My '47 has tube shocks, front and back. The my rears use upper mounts that clamp on the cross member.

can any post a picture of the upper bolt mount for a 48 rear tube shock so I know what iam looking for or does anyone have two to sell
