Greetings, I have a 49 conv. and the fuel pump has retired. C&G lists two types one a single action and a double action. What is the difference? I'm not sure which one I need,I think just a single action but would appreciate some guidance. Thanks

The double action ones have another part on the bottom that creates vacuum so the wipers work better. If the one on your car has a vacuum hose coming from under the fuel part it is the double action version. If it looks like a regular fuel pump, only has a fuel line going in and a fuel line to the carb it is the single action one. The doubles are about twice the size of the singles also.

You might want to conside changing the push rod also since you have it apart. It doesn't take a lot of wear to make a difference in pump output.
