I put rebuilt pump on tonite, starts and runs but leaks gas through accelerator pump shaft opening. Friend told me to lower float level, did that and still leaks. Attempted to lower float some more but now accelerator pump leather was curling on one edge when reinstalling top of carb so I have the cardboard ring that came on the pump holding it in place for an hour or so with a few drops of MMO to let it regain it's shape.

Ken, It's Tuesday nite, I expect the pump tomorrow. Do you have a pic of the correct fuel stand? P. 104 of the 35-36 Ford book shows it from the right side, hard to tell for me if mine is wrong. Are you sure you have no use for the 2 '47 pumps I have? I'll call you wednesday. Do you have the air scoop breather?

So is that where I would connect an oil filter return?

Tim, The drilled out bolt looks similar to the one used for the oil filter return line in the 39-40 Fords.

Ken ct.: I guess my pump in the 41-46 universal style. Will you be rebuilding mine or sending me the correct pump for 1936?

The next 3 posts have pics of the 5/16 hex bolt with the center drilled out and a brass plug inserted. It was mounting my fuel pump to the stand on the driver's side. I am wondering why the bolt was drilled out as I don't believe it is original.

Here is a photo of the late 36-40 fuel pump. The pump that you had photo of is the 41-46 universal style.
