Lance: Thanks for posting the pictures and history of your "new" 1939 Deluxe. I'm pleased to see that you plan to keep it in the family! I'm 75...and wish I'd had the foresight to keep a few Fords I owned back when I was 26. May I suggest obtaining a copy of the club book on the 1938-39 Fords (if you haven't already). It is full of most everything you could want learn about your '39. It even includes a factory photo of body drop of a '39 DeLuxe Tudor like yours!

I bet you were a bit surprised when you figured out your daughter liked the cars more then your son. It's great to hear you're building a car with her. I would love to do a project with my kid once he's old enough.

I think a great part of this hobby is watching the kids get the twinkle in their eyes. My son is 27 and likes the old cars, but I wouldn't say he's into them. My daughter is 22 and loves the cars, the eras, the fashions, almost anything in the genre. I've taught her to drive the Model A and the '42. The two of us are building a "circa" 1926 Model T fendered speedster that will be hers. Our goal is to have it finished by the time she graduates college this June - we might make it...

That's also a great looking car. I'm thinking I'll be ready to pass this car on in maybe 45 years. By that time the car will only be 117 years old. I think with one more motor rebuild and some light re-restoration work in 20 years it will make it with no problem.

That is a beeyootiful car Lance and a great story. I would never part with it either. Take your boy in it whenever you can and he'll be hooked too. My 3-1/2 year old boys love going in the 49 and I take them every chance I get.

Lance, Tom J gave you a good explanation. Every time that I log on, I scroll through all of the recent posts. That adds to the view count on each post. There are several others that do the same thing. Other members of the Forum also scroll through the posts and only post when they have something to add to the discussion.

Lance, some of those are "lookyloos", but other viewers are most likely those who have already posted. They come back to view the new posts and see if there are any more questions they can answer for you.
