I need to chase the threads on a fuel sender flange on a 53 Customline. Can anyone tell me what threads it is?

As I recall they are 10-32. If I am not mistaken it may be a "dead hole", so you may need a bottoming tap.

I don't know the thread pitch but if it involves measuring any fluid I would bet its either a 1/4 NPT or 3/8 NPT, you cannot use standard machine threads on anything that involves fluid or pressure, if you do the threads will not seal. 1/4-18 and 3/8-18 are the standard for National Pipe Thread (or NTPT or National Tapered Pipe Thread)

Tom J gave you the correct answer, the fuel sending unit flange screws are 10-32 and there are no holes in the tank, just the flange, so you will need a bottoming tap.

Sorry, didn't read close enough for the "flange" part.
