Most of Drake's parts are good, if they have them in stock, which seems to be a perpetual problem. The best moldings are the originals, as they are usually much thicker than the repros and can be restored.

Thanks guys, my car is a 48, I was looking at drakes catalog and he shows the same molding for sedans and coupes, I thought they would be different. Does anyone know if there is a difference thanks

I'm assuming you have a '48. Be aware the there are changes in cross section during the 46-48 years. If you don't have the 41-48 Club book, get one. It will be a big help.

I do have a 48 and I have the book, the 48 has the molding with the crown for lack of a better word, I just thought there would be a different contour between coupe and sedan, Drake shows one part number for all.

The contour is the same for the whole car. My only problem with the Drake and other repros is the contrast with the quality of the original trim. The fit and finish is quite different, but we are fortunate that anyone furnishes the trim for cars more than a half century old. If you order from other vendors, you will probably get Drake pieces, anyway.

Thanks again Supereal, I was just surprised to find out the moldings for a coupe and sedan had the same curve. I guess you never stop learning.

The parts catalog has different P/N's for the quarter molding on the coupe and sedan, I would ask for measurements to make sure that they will fit. I would opt for restoring the originals if you have them. Tom
