This is a short answer, but you may try the "search" button since I believe this has been covered. The switch on the back of the lock mech. is fairly easy and straight forward. The key lock cylinder is held in place by a special lock pin on the bottom of the housing, it has to be pulled out. The hardest items are the small diameter steel switch actuating pin, it also has to be removed by pulling straight up, you may try a claw hammer. And the chrome button (pick up??) on the end of the lock bolt that extends through the side of the housing, it too has to be pulled straight off.

On the front page of this site use the menu on the left side and go to "friends" . In that menu you will find the site for the "Ford Flathead V-8,Van Pelt sales". On Mac's site there are the breakdown drawings of the steering gear, transmission, rear end, etc. This should help with your disassembly.

If you send a private message to Don Rogers or flatheadfan they could email you information with sketches/drawings on how to take a column drop apart.
