I am digging thru stuff left over from either a 37 ford or a 39 ford convert and ran across the center top attaching bracket, windshield top peg. I will be listing this part but it seems this is a 37 part as it attaches with 2 screws, whereas the 39 if I recall is a 4 screw affair. Only number is a 4 stamped on the reverse side.

The center top retainer bracket on my '37 is original to the car and it has four screws retaining it to the header.

Now we have a mystery!!!!Page 90 of The classy Ford V8, shows a 37 cabriolet with a similar 2 screw post. Page 111 show a 40 convert with the 4 screw variant.

Page 3-3 of the Club's 37 Restoration manual shows both the 2 screw and the 4 screw bracket (dowel) the 2 screw dowel (78-711287-A) was used in early 37 production abd the 4 screw dowel (78-711281-B) was used in later 37 production.

Thanks Don. Mystery solved and it does make good sense that the post I have fits the early design hense the early factory photos in 37.
