Is it possible to add a 37 battery box to a 36 2dr slant without damaging the firewall??...

That would not be a good idea. The problem you have with the 36 is having enough room in the engine bay to mount a conventional battery. That's why the 37 batery is mounted in the firewall. If you use the narrow Optima it would probably fit and you could build your own box to fit the Optima.

it would take a lot of rewiring to start with, like running cables to the floor mounted starter switch, back and forth accross the back of engine, why not leave were it is??? 37RAGTOPMAN and putting a battery close to the exhaust manifolds I think would be asking for more problems,

Thanks for the info will keep it where it belongs...I was looking to being able to carry a spare battery just in case...Will carry a spare Optima...Thanks again

A spare battery is seldom needed if you do regular maintenance on your battery. Conventional batteries do not fail suddenly, they usually give you plenty of warning before they die.
