The dome light switch was only on the passenger side of the car in 1939.

The dome light switch on my 42 won't move and I'm nervous about pushing on it too hard. Any thoughts on how to free it up? Careful spraying of some contact cleaner or WD40?

Remove the switch and spray it with electrical contact cleaner or WD-40. These switches are fairly simple and if they don't move smoothly it may be time for a new switch.
