hi all, do you run a washer on top of the water pump mounts and gear box if so how much preload to you put on the mounts, it seams that the bolts work great without the washer, the kit states to be complete however there is no washer provided, there is a large washer about 2" in dia I assume that sits on top of the pad are we assembling it correctly thanks in advance

Unfortunately the Drake insulator kit does not include that second washer that fits directly beneath the castle or slotted hex nut on top of the front and rear motor mount brackets. You have to furnish it yourself.

The Bob Drake mounts are excellent quality, but are known to have come with bolts that are too short. Kube has posted about this several times. I experienced it first-hand. But no problem. Just re-use your original bolts. There is no preload on mounts. No spec on how tight the bolt should be. Should be "good and snug". Compress the rubber a little, but not too much.
