I have a 37 motor stock, started and run on a stand. It is 21 stud with block off plates. It has been a long time that it has run, but no doubt it will I assume if you have a 36 it could be Babbitt or LB if insert bearings. If you need original you would need 21 stud with no water pump block off plates. I also have a line on an early 21 stud but may be a Babbitt motor. What is wrong with what you got?

Contact an engine rebuilder that does flatheads, they often have old engines. In NY contact Mark Moriarty see V8 Times ad section. In NC Len Pritchard. This way you get a good motor and the correct block. Learn what your engine should look like and the difference between 35 & 36 and other years.

I'm also wondering what is wrong with your existing '36 engine, and if the block is still good, why not rebuild that??
