I tried to buy a front sway bar through Bob Drake, from Chassis Engineering. The site said they were no longer available. I then went to Pete and Jakes and bought one for 35-40 Fords. The Drake/Chassis product was 35-36 Fords. Anyone here have experience with the Pete and Jakes product? I haven’t opened the box yet

I checked the P and J website, but there are no diagrams or instruction for the sway bar. I do know that much of the I beam front end parts that were formerly made by Chassis Engineering were take over by Pete and Jake's. Once it's out of the box if you could post a photo I can tell you if it's the old CE design.

While Pete & Jake's does have their own line of suspension components, Chassis Eng product & design was acquired by Heidt's suspension products in the Chicago area.

42 Merc, you are correct that some CE products were taken over by Heidt's, but if you check their website they have no parts for the I beam axle cars. I was told by a supplier that the I beam stuff was sold off to Pete and Jake's.

Thanks for asking. Wish I had more provenance. Was in a collectors stash in Salt Lake City. I got it from the people who bought it. I’ve got Fenton Headers, dual Smithy’s. ‘37 steering. 3:38 rear. Rebuilt transmission, rewired car. Had all gauges reworked. Just put on new Coker Radials. Will install swaybar Also has electric fuel pump as a back up and electronic ignition This winter and dual temp gauges. I drive it . Bugs are a badge of honor. Maybe one nice day left this year and it’s tomorrow.
