Hi, I've been searching the internet to no avail, trying to find floor mats to protect the carpet in front of the driver and passenger seats. Does anyone have any leads?

The front floor mat in all 1940 Fords was rubber amd no accessory floor mats were offered in 1940. You can use any after market floor mats to protect your carpet.

I use good quality small mats to protect the expensive floor mat in my '47. If you do that, be sure to anchor them so they can't slide up and prevent the clutch pedal travel. I used light wire from a hole punched in the edge of the mats and fastened under the seat. They can be easily removed if necessary. I thought my clutch needed adjustment until I realized the mat had slid forward.

I purchased a set of mats for my '46 from a gentleman named Steve Krueger, he advertised in the last, (July-Aug) issue of the V-8 Times. They have the Club logo on them, I'm very satisfied. I pass my copy on so I can't give you any more details.
