Does anybody know a source for parts for the jackscrew convertible lifter mechanism used on these cars prior to the hydraulic lifter mechanism utilized from late 53 on? I need the motor/ housing and cables specifically. Thanks for any help!

Try Hydro-E-Lectric, 800/343-4261 If they don't have what you need, they will know where else.

Found that Hydro-E-Lectric makes a complete hydraulic replacement system for the jackscrew equipped mid 50's Sunliners, so we are switching over to a hydraulic lift system, which is far more reliable and easier to maintain than the jackscrew systems. Thanks, Supereal!

You are welcome. We have had very good luck with Hydro. The only hitch was that the switch supplied wasn't adequate to run the pump. We cured that with heavier wiring and a "home brew" control box. When I was a Ford mechanic way back in the 50's, we often struggled with the top system on the hard top convertibles. They used an electric system with several jackscrews and cables. Getting it all to work was like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded.
