VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

I am looking for a source for nuts, bolts and screws for my '38 DeLuxe Fordor. I searched threw V8 Times and didn't find a source. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks. Found what I needed. Cost is acceptable, but I only need $10 worth of nuts and bolts. Cost will be $25 + $6.95. A little steep. Is there anything in general you would recommend I also purchase to fillup the box. I've $15 worth I need to fill the box? Might as well since it will cost the same.

Any fasteners on the engine/suspension/frame that are rusted &/or typically fail or are worn would be good candidates. Ask Roy - he can provide a degree of advice as well. For starters - grill nuts and bolts, any cadmium plated nuts and bolts on the engine and frame, any Marsden or self-locking nuts such as those on the shock absorber arms, hood, etc., all would be good candidates.

Not to mention: how about the tiny screw that holds the door lock in? Those always need to be replaced.
Or the special break off bolts for the steering sector and ignition lock?

If you try to do repairs and/or restorations on the "cheap", the net result will be just what you paid for.
I can still hear my auto mechanics teacher telling us that "a repair is only as good as the weakest part"..
A number of years ago I was prevailed upon by several of my old car friends to enter my '36 Ford into an EFV8 Club sanctioned car show.. Generally speaking I am not real big on car shows, I build cars for my taste and use, in addition my '36 is highly modified, however, all of the modifications, with the exception of the speed equipment on the engine, have been done with bolt on Ford parts from various years.
Much to my surprise my car was awarded best of show in it's class.. That really caused an uproar by several people, especially a gentleman with a very nice '36 coupe. The coupe was nicely restored, however, the restoration had been done with parts that were imported, many of which were of poor fit and quality. In other words built to a budget in lieu of to a design..
The judges finally clarified why they had chosen my '36 over the other cars, pointing out that my car was all original Ford, original upholstery, class, accessories, etc.

Thanks to everyone. All very good advice. The '38 had a frame out restoration around 2001. The previous owner stored the car more than drove. I am slowly fixing minor issues and trying to bring it back. It now runs whereas the previous owner could not keep it running. All this has been accomplished with the excellent advise from the EFV8 Club Forum.

If you need to fill out the box on your order you might consider a trim screw set for the inside. When your car was restored most trim screw sets were chrome plated with a cheap chrome. It didn't take long for them to start rusting in wet climates. The new sets are stainless steel and are much nicer.
