Is there one or more books that would describe what the correct color or finish a particular part should be for a 37 1/2 ton pickup? Is there a reference that judges use to determine if a finish/color is correct?

James; Would suggest you look into purchasing the Club's 1937 Ford Book. While it does cover only the passenger vehicles, a good part of the book is about the engine and chassis. And since the 1/2 ton pickup is a truck on a passenger car chassis (and engiine) there is a lot of information that you can us. You can also print out samples of the Club's judging sheets from this website. Go to the Home page, and click on forms. The judging sheets will give you information on what the judges look for. Again, very helpful with regards to working on your vehicle.

I agree about purchasing the clubs book but there are a few things unique about the truck engine. I am definitely not an expert but I think I remember hearing that the truck heads ands manifold were different. If I remember correctly (and this you should check) the heads carried a "77" part number cast in and the manifold was cast iron. Charlie Stephens
