I have a 1949 Mercury convertible. The body color is Royal Bronze Maroon Metallic. I need paint colors for the dash(two tone) and steering column. The top half of the dash is a standard Taupe but I need to know the correct color for the bottom part which is the same as the steering column. There were several colors for the bottom half depending on the exterior color.I could use a photo.

Here is a link to a 1949 Mercury sales brochure. I don't know if the colors are accurate, but it looks like the bottom half of the dash would be silver. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=59845

Thanks. There were several colors available depending on the exterior color. Blue, sand, brown etc. Silver was probably for advertising.

I found a good sample of the color of my dash and steering column under the clamp holding the column to the steering box. You may also find it under the clamp that holds the column to the dash or under dash trim.

Thanks again but the dash, steering etc mostly came from different cars. Gerry
