Whatever problem you are having an 8 volt battery is not the answer.Let us know the problem or symptoms and we can help solve them and you can continue to use the 6 volt battery.

To answer your question, It depends on what condition is making you want to use an 8 volt battery. High resistance connections can start a fire, so it is better to fix the problem, rather than add a band-aid to circumvent the symptoms. I do not recommend using an 8 volt battery. It is better to fix the electrical problems and use a 6 volt battery.

Can I use a 8 volt battery in my 1939 ford with a 1946 ford engine, 6 volt alternator and starter with out damaging anything?
