Keith , I'll add to that with the old saying "if it ain't leakin' oil it's out of oil"

The old saying about squeaks and rattles in old fords was,'be glad you have two parts close enough together to squeak and rattle".

I have never heard a squeak coming from the fuel pump. but I always pack the operating arm with a light grease. Use a screwdriver as a stethoscope to isolate the noise.

When I had a 1937 60hp it was always the fan belt. Solved that with a light spray of WD-40.

when I listen, sounds like it's coming from the rear. in the fuel pump area.

Check to see if the rubbing blocks on the points are lubricated. It is surprising how much noise they can make if dry.

just installed a 1938, 60 hp and when idling i'm hearing an intermittent squeaking/squawking sound. is it possible that the fuel pump is acting up. perhaps a dry diaphragm!
