VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Motors manuals covering the 32-48 models are another independent source for serial number locations.

The vehicle owners manual will not show a list of serial numbers for 1933 or 34. Neither will any of the original ford Service Manuals. I understand VanPelt sales does have a list on their web site, I believe there are other sites also. You can google this. The vehicle serial number was stamped on the LH frame rail near the steering box and the front cross member, it is also stamped on the same member at the rear where the frame kicks up for the rear end. It starts with a star character 18-xxxxxx and ends with the same five pointed star character. The V8 Club (this web site)has for sale a 33-34 restoration book. This should stand up in court. The book list the serial numbers and month of production. as well as all other pertinent info necessary. Exact production dates (to the day) were lost to a fire at Fords Rotunda Building.

Serial numbers for 1933 ran from 18-212239 through 18-561592. For 1934 the numbers ran from 18-561593 through 18-1030758. This information is from page 30 of the book titled The Early Ford V-8 as Henry Built It by Francis and DeAngelis. You may be able to find a copy at your local library or you find the book for sale on e-Bay or Amazon. Prices range from $50-$100 usually. You might find a used on Amazon. The information in the book came from the Ford Archives of the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan

Try Vanpelt Sales. They have the serial (vin) numbers by year and probably a discussion of what was used as the vin number by Ford in the 30s. This of course is the engine serial number which was transferred to the frame when the car was assembled. There were no body numbers except for bodies built for Ford by other companies.

Have you checked the "Instruction Book" (equivalent to todays "Owners Manual) that came with the car? Reproductions are available. Have you checked the "Service Bulletins:? Not as "official" but have you checked the Club's Restoration Guidelines?

thanks we have the frame with the vin numbers in the correct places the problem is proving to the courts that this is a 1934 frame and the title if there was one was to the frame and not body

Steve,
Check the top of the frame, on the drivers side, near the front cross member. There may also be a number stamped on the frame rail under the body, forward of the rear wheel. This is where the numbers are stamped on the later fords, and I believe the location holds true for the 34. You may have to look close as they are usually covered with a lot of crud and paint.

just find this site and i need some help, does anyone know where i can (use in court) to show that 1934 the frames was use to locate the vin number and not the body, trying to prove ownership is to the frame and not to the body thanks in advance
