VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)

On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

My 1935 Ford Pickup has always had V8 hub caps in the 25 years I've owned it, but then I've replaced most of them with better ones. Maybe the previous owners did the same. Still waiting for the truck authority on the Ford oval caps.

I once owned a nice 33 ford pickup that was all original (paint, engine, etc.). It had the hubcaps with the Ford oval on them and was a factory V-8 truck. This is not to say that someone didn't change the caps over time , but it was a very original truck.

Nice little truck! You'll have a ball with it.
replacement heads are common and totally acceptable to me and most other 1934 Ford owners who drive them.
Maybe we can all learn something from this thread.
First I didn't know as David J said that trucks didn't have aluminum heads when new like the cars.
Question: Did the V8 truck not have V8 hub caps?
(I think the Ford oval caps indicated a 4 cylinder on the cars, but may have been used on trucks to use up the stock on hand.) Any experts on trucks out there?

You can purchase the book at the "on-line store" on the front page of this site. If you haven't joined the Early Ford V-8 Club you should consider becoming a member. The V-8 Times magazine is worth the price of admission. You get 6 issues a year and it's all about 32-53 cars and trucks.

I occasionally complain about the book but it is by far the best around . Covers only 33-34 and for me that's all that's needed . You may be able to get a copy here ? I would think anyway .

Fuel pump looks to be a newer replacement . Your truck when new would have had the " small dome type " . The tranny number if correct is March 32 . The 582954 number is Jan 34 and I see you found a star after it . Should be one before it along with the prefix and double ended arrow though . As I stated before the missing prefix is not that rare on 33's but kinda rare on 34's . My 33 5w has the prefix on the tranny but NOT ON THE FRAME !! Stars and double ended arrow are there though . Had a 33 roadster years ago that was close serial # wise and it was the same on the frame # . Star , double ended arrow , 6 digit number and final star . No original tranny with that car so no idea on that . Should be a star after the tranny number and also before the frame number . Also according to the 33-34 V-8 club book on page 7-16 pickups after number 550532 had iron heads . So yours is supposed to have the iron heads but not the ones on it . Later replacements as the 1942 date shows .

David, I rechecked the tranny number and it is as I said before. The frame number, adjacent to the steering housing is 582954*...I did not previously see the star at the end. If the fuel pump is not stock, do you have an idea as to the year

It could very well be the original engine with aftermarket heads replacing the aluminum ones.
In the 60's it seemed like every OLD parts store had a pile of Ford cast iron replacement heads next to the back door.

Where is the *18-1301 located ? Is there a star after it ? If that is indeed the complete # it is a very early 32 tranny . The 582954 is a 34 # but it is not all there . Are there stars before and after it ? The prefix - arrow is missing also . Is it by the steering box ? The missing prefix is not really rare on 33's but should be there on a 34 . The motor pic you posted looks proper other than the replacement heads . Cast heads are normal on 34 pickups but yours are newer replacements . Nice truck BTW . OK after looking again the fuel pump in not a 34 . Still looks good !!!!!!!!
