The horns in my 40 Ford have stopped working. The horns were working fine. The connections appears to be ok should I suspect the relay? There doesn't seem to be a fuse anywhere. - Mike

Suggest the following in that order 1. Check the connectors that fit into the spring contacts on the Horn Relay 2. Make sure you have a good ground, suggest a star washer 3.Remove Horns, remove Horn Bells and carefully clean points with a fine file

How about trying a by-pass of the relay with a hot lead directly to the horns to see if it is the relay/horn button etc., first. If horns work, then work back from there.

It is very likely that the contacts in the horn relay are dirty or corroded. You can check for this 2 ways, use a 12 gauge jumper wire to connect one of the horns to the battery or use a volt meter to see if there is voltage supplied to the horns when the horn button is pressed. The horn button provides a ground connection to the horn relay and the relay picks to supply voltage to the horns.
