I would like to change the fluids in my transmission and the rear end in my '40 Ford Standard Business Coupe 90HP. What fluids should I use? Thx - Mike

I use SAE 140 in my 33-34 stuff . Yours probably calls for SAE 90 winter and SAE 140 summer . Many swear by 80-90 or 85-140 and all should work fine . If you believe the yellow metal eating GL-5 bit you can use GL-4 sta-lube from NAPA . I personally don't worry about it as my old JD tractors have brass stuff in them and GL-5 doesn't bother them at all and some of them are as old as my Fords . Dunno here but this subject gets messy on other sites .

Keep the oil level in both the transmission and rear end just below the filler hole to reduce the amount of leakage.
