I am goinfg to paint my 1935 FORDOR DELUXE SEDAN steering column. According to the 1935-36 Book it should be a "dark non-metallic taupe" as should the lock assembly. Does anyone know if the clamp at the bottom of the column is painted the same color ? Does anyone know if the small metal box (case, PN 3712) at the back of the ignition switch is painted ?

Admiral: The clamp is cadminum plated as is the case on the back of the ignition---no paint. My clamp bolt is cadmium plated, however I have seen a few clamps with raven finish. Someone will know. Hope this helps...Tom..
