I have never seen a magneto ignition on anything other than a specialty car, such as a dragster. While mags are common on aircraft that operate on a steady rpm basis, I can't imagine such a setup on a car for the street. Keep us informed on this unusual conversion. I'm a great fan of the stock Ford ignition, as it has proven to be "bulletproof" for decades. My last encounter with magneto ignition was with Farmall tractors!

Ok according to what I found on discussions for which I am grateful is I do not have magneto set up but a conversion to Mallory distributor having a coil and pts. A magneto set does not have a coil. Boy am I getting educated. Now if she will only start up. I'm in process of checking plugs for spark.. Coil sparks ok not as snappy as I would prefer.
