VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Are there any reference photos of the 1933 firewall that shows how many holes there should be and what they are for? I am especially interested to know if the small tube for the gas gauge should go thru the same grommet as the main wiring harness? The id of the grommet is shaped for a second item.

I assume you have already looked in the Clubs '33-'34 restoration guidelines (I don't have a copy since my car is a '32). Years ago Bob Drake distributed a set of installation instructions for his '32 rubber grommet kits that was useful. I don't know if he has anything on '33 and probably not the best source off restoration information.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the "restoration guide" and although there are several detail photos I don't see anything on the gas gauge line as it passes thru the firewall. There are about 36 holes in the firewall and I might know what about two thirds are for.None appear to be drilled after the car was made,but I did not take the car apart so I have no way of knowing.

You might take a few photos and post them. Identify the holes you know and point out the ones you have questions about. It would be good to also post them on the Early V8 section of fordbarn.com. Is your car a 4 or 8? I don't know about '33 but it makes a difference in '32.

The wiring harness, vacuum wiper tube and the hydrostatic line all pass through the grommet. Photo below is a 34 Standard Coupe.

Thank you all for the input, especially the photo! I am going to fit up the original inside fiberboard sound pad which will explain about 20 of the 1/4" holes and take some pictures as suggested. Is it possible that some of the holes were put in as a mirror image for the right hand drive models? Things like throttle pedal and speedo cable?

Thank you again for your help! I finally found the parts and hardware to continue my investigation on the firewall holes. Most of it I have figured out except for the lower pass side. I have included some photos to help. There is a hole in the very bottom v shaped rib that is not a perfect circle about 1" wide that also has a corresponding 1/2 round notch in the wooden floor board? Directly above are two 7/16" holes? About 5 1/2" above and more towards the center are two more 7/16" holes? Both sets of holes are about 1 3/4" apart. The last unknown hole is 1" in dia and a few inches away from the knock out for the columbia. Are any of these holes original and if so what are they for? It will be a big step backwards to have to weld them up and repaint, but this problem is holding up assembly and needs to be solved! Is it possible that someone installed an aftermarket heater? I have all the original insulation boards and the cover with holes that match the unknown holes, but I know that does not make it right. Your help will be very appreciated with this problem.
