The Green Book shows that the 35-39 horn button with the rod are interchangeable.

The Model A rods are a different length and the horn button assembly is totally different than the 35-39. The 35-36 horn buttons/rods will interchange, but due to the diamater of the button they will not work on the 37-39. The 37 is a one year only button and will not work on any car but a 37. The 38-39 will interchange, but only works on those cars due to the diameter of the button. The V-8 horn rods/buttons are not reproduced, so the only option is to find one that fits your specific year steering wheel.

The Model A rod is the same diameter and does have the square end for the light switch fork. The light switch is the same from 28-39.
