VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Thanks for all the previous advice. However, I have another issue and need all the advice I can get. How is the chassis wiring routed? I don't have a lift and can only look under the car laying on the ground. I don't see any wiring harness running from the rear of the car to the dash wiring. Is it routed on top of the floorpan (under the carpet)? When the car was converted to 12v. the old wiring was used in the trunk and new wiring for the tail lights tied into it. Also, a new single wire was routed along the brake fluid line from the fuel sending unit to the gauge. The wiring under the dash is a combination of old and some new wires.

From the wiring diagram on Van Pelts site, it looks like the wiring follow the left side of the car above the floor p[an.

None of the wiring harnesses is routed under the body of the vehicle. The wiring harness that provides power to the rear of the vehicles begins under the dash. It connects the taillights, fuel gauge, interior lights (except open cars) and brake lights.
The harness is routed behind the driver side kick panel out through the body and enters the inside of the rocker panels where it continues to the rear of the front door. At this point, the interior light wires connect to the interior lights.
On all passenger vehicles, the harness exits the rear of the rocker panel traveling up into the car under the rear seat into the trunk and is secured to the driver side rear wheel seam by clamps. The harness is routed under the driver side tail light. One branch of wires connects to the left side tail light the other travels along the trunk floor and the rear of the quarter panel and connects to the right side tail light. This “Crossover harness” is routed under the edge of the truck deck and is held in place by tabs that are welded to the body. These tabs are flexible enough when properly adjusted; hold the harness between them and the edge of the truck deck.
It should be noted that the tail lamp has a dual filament bulb mounted in the socket. The brake light wire connects to this brighter lamp. .
The third section of the wire harness powers the fuel gage and license light. This is routed as follows: The inner panel that is behind the rear wheel and the rear of the quarter panel has a hole in it just below floor level. The wire harness exits via this hole through a. grommet and is routed between the fuel tank and trunk floor connecting to the fuel tank sending unit. The remaining wire travels along the rear cross member connecting to a butt connector on the license plate light. It is secured to the cross member with special wiring hangers.

This book is a companion to the other Ford Restoration books published by the Early Ford V-8 Club. It will be published by the Club and offered for sale early next year.

Excellent description c-gor. Does the book address the wiring/routing to the Overdrive Transmission? I believe this is the only wiring under the body.

The book does address the overdrive wiring as well as other accessories. It should be available by mid April. There are 2 volumes. The First Volume consists of 175 pages covering 8 Chapters. These include information on the entire engine, chasis exterior, interior, accessories as well as the Canadian and Australian vehicles. The Second Volume consists of about 300 pages and includes all 1952 & 1953 Ford Service Bulletins, Accessory Installation Drawings and Tools.
