You might try contacting the Olsons from RG153 in Conrad Montana. Harold and Betty have a lovely '37 Fordor. If you are an EFV8 member, you will see their address and phone number on page 132 of the 2012 Roster.

The body number plates were installed by the body builder and not Ford. The last four digits indicate the sequence the body was built. The lower the number the earlier in the year, later in the year the higher the number. Lets say your car was assembled by Ford and using the glass codes and the frame number, about half way through the production year. If there were 10,000 of your body style produced in the year then the last digits would be ABOUT 5000. This is a very simple example. There are factors involved that make this only a rough example.

I'm still trying to correctly reproduce the 'Body ID Plate' which belongs on the firewall of my '37 Deluxe Fordor Touring Sedan. Correct 'blank' plates are available from various vendors but I need to know the letter/number 'size' (1/8th? 3/16th?) to be stamped on the plate. Also, if any of you know what the last four numbers of the Body ID number represent? I know that the first four digits to be embossed on the plate for my particular car is '730D' (this after the 78-). But, it's the last for digits/numbers I would like to have some info about. Any of you who own a 1937 Ford Deluxe Fordor Touring Sedan, if you could post a pictue of your Body ID Plate, that would be nice. This Body ID plate is mounted on the slanted part of the firewall on the drivers side. Thanks for any info/pictures you can provide - especially pictures!.......MG
