Go directly to the starter relay post with the big red wire.

With good connections to the battery, it should not make a difference.

I have a two wire alternator for my late flathead and the wiring diagram shows a red wire coming off the alternator going directly to the positive post on the battery. Instead of going directly to the battery positive post can I instead run the red alternator wire to the starter relay post where the battery positive cable attaches to? This would make things much easier for me if this is possible.
