Topic: Aternator wiring question on flathead

I have a two wire alternator for my late flathead and the wiring diagram shows a red wire coming off the alternator going directly to the positive post on the battery. Instead of going directly to the battery positive post can I instead run the red alternator wire to the starter relay post where the battery positive cable attaches to? This would make things much easier for me if this is possible.

With good connections to the battery, it should not make a difference.

Go directly to the starter relay post with the big red wire.
