VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Jegs offers both the 94 and 97 carbs in their latest catalog The 94 is an Edlebrock piece, usually a guarantee of quality, item # 350-1151, $399.99. The 97 is available in two different models, at $395.99. They also offer electric or manual choke kits for the 97. The problem with "rebuilt" carbs is that the original units are very old, and the diecast metal has usually deformed. The problem is aggravated by the numbers of times the carb has been disasemmbled and put back together over the years. This deforms the threads and gasket surfaces, as well as the internal clearances, and often doesn't include rebushing the shafts. Simply installing a kit is not what should be called "rebuilding". Too often the result is not worth the cost, which could be applied to a brand new carb.

IMO, If you want a good rebuilt Stromberg 97 contact Uncle Max.
If you want the best new Stromberg 97 on the market go with the one made in England and get it from Uncle Max. He will stand behind either rebuilt or new 100%. Also, if you want to purchase any parts for any of the Stromberg model carburetors Uncle Max will always treat you right. I once sent an email order for Stromberg parts to UM that totalled ~$900.00. The parts arrived on my doorstep three days later with everything I ordered plus other little extra freebee items that were very useful for me to rebuild my carburetors. He also sent me a cool Stromberg T shirt with my last order.

I had continuing problems with my '97 until I sent it to "Uncle Max" Max Musgrove for a rebuild. It ran perfectly when I got it back. I also purchased from Max one of the new '97's which Max referred to as a piece of jewelry. It, of course also ran well. I ended up keeping the rebuilt carb on the car and I have the new unit as a ready-to-go backup.

Well my reply is going to sound a lot like my fuel pump reply earlier,but it is my expierience. Same as my fuel pumps had carburetors rebuilt with no satisfaction by fuel pump/carburetor "gurus" Two as a matter of fact but neither were Stromberg,one 59A and other 91-99 for a 39 Ford. This was on a 59AB in my 37 Ford,neither ran good or dependable starting (flooding). I had as much in both carburetors with three named rebuilders as I would a new Stromberg repro but finally sprang for a new one and it has ran great,never an issue with starting hot or cold. Just make sure you buy the correct one not the Speedway"97" China made one,get the English one and get it from one of their top reps in US Max Musgrove "Uncle Max" on Fordbarn,he is in roster or was. He is in Utah.

Guy's, I'm thinking of purchasing one of Stromberg's new 97 carbs. The price is quite steep but are they worth the money? I'm getting tired of repairing so-called "rebuilds".
