VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

C'mon isn't their anyone out there with the "how to" knowledge on this subject. Don't know how to contact Don Rogers for advice, he doesn't have an e-mail listed. Please HELP. Thanks.

Dennis Carpenter catalog April 2008 p. 128-129 has directions and pictures on a 39 Ford. I see your email is disabled or I would scan it and send.

40 coupe gave you a good tip. Be sure to clean out the groove on the back side so the lip of the gasket will seal properly. Use some dish soap or a rubber lubricant to get the seal to fit down into the groove. The seals in the 35-39 Fords all install in the same manner. I'm assuming you have the frame off the car. Trying to install the gasket with the windshield on the car is extremely difficult.

Installing new rubber winshield seal

First make sure ALL of the old rubber seal has been completely removed from the groove in the windshield frame.
Lay your gasket out and determine that it is facing correctly to the windshield frame. Most gaskets have a tendency to roll or twist so make sure that it is flat and the natural curve of the larger lip rolls to the inside of the frame. The 35/36 gasket has a flat side and a ribbed side. The flat side goes against the body. Position the gasket as it goes on to the frame with the face of the frame downward. Do not try to assemble dry. Coat the gasket with Liquid Dish Washing Detergent. Do Not use WD 40 or similar chemicals they do not work in this application as well as soap. Start in the middle of the top portion of the frame. The 35/36 gasket has a T style lip so slide one edge into the windshield frame groove and using a Popsicle stick or small screwdriver with the sharp edge sanded off, begin working the other grooved lip into the track of the windshield frame. Do not pull or stretch the gasket. Follow this procedure around the circumference of the frame. When you are done go around and gently pull on the the gasket parallel to the frame to remove any tension and let the gasket normalize to the frame. Corners are the toughest part. Give yourself lots of room to work! You could also use talcum powder instead of soap and a nylon "tool" with rounded thin ends instead of a popsicle stick or small screwdriver. Hey, JM and others thanks so much I will be trying to install it tomorrow. I have the frame all clean and repainted it with rustoleum non gloss black. I am having trouble getting to lay properly, but I get it eventually. Thank-you. Dale Smith.

I'm going to get the opportunity to try those instructions again myself. I'm ordering a '35-'36 windshield seal from Drake today to replace the seal on my '35 fordor sedan. Would like to get this done before Auburn but time is running out. I hope BD does not have to back order me on that gasket

Dale, yep that's me. Are you still up in the Redding area? I do a tour to Burney Falls every Memorial Day weekend. If you get a chance come up and see the group. You will know a few of the Redwood RG people who go on the tour.
