On my 59A engine there are two threaded holes at the upper left (driver's side) rear of the block. One accepts the electric oil pressure sender. What is the other one? If I install an additional oil pressure guage under the hood, is this where the sender goes? If I don't use the duplicate guage, do I block this extra hole?

Ole: The 2nd tapped hole is for the supply line to the oil filter (if so equipped).

I have no oil filter. Does that mean I can use this threaded hole to measure oil pressure?

You certainly may add a modern type mechanical sending unit to the second threaded port at the rear of the block.
