Brad, the common name for that part is "tie rod" and it is supposed to be straight. You can buy one at most parts suppliers. https://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/fordpart.php?number=21A-3282

I'm looking for a spindle connecting rod tube for my 46 coupe. The Green Book says its part number is 21A-3283. Those that have this on their 42-48 car, could you post a picture of it please? The book shows the rod as straight. other sources show it having a bend left of center on the passenger side. Mine has a bend but I don't know if has been bent further at some time. If I need to replace it, would some one have a good one for sale or is there a vendor who might have one? Thanks for any advice or help you all provide. Brad
