I'm going to put in new interior into my '34 Fordor soon. Does Acostishield insulation make that big of a difference? Anybody use/install it? Is it as easy as Mac and LB say it is to install? Cheers!

I have not used Mac's kit but I did install acoustic material in my doors and quarter panels as well as a heat shield material under my carpet. It has reduced road noise considerably. You need a smooth surface to attach the material to, any roughness will reduce the bond strength.

Make sure that any material you use as a sound deadner will not absorb water.

Would hesitate to use any sound deadener that needs to be glued to the sheet metal. Have you ever tried to remove glued down foam back carpeting?

I'm not familiar with the name brand Acostishield insulation, but I have 34 Fordor that I did the interior in the "leatherette" about 5 years ago. First: I got in the empty car with a 4" grinder with a wire cup and cleaned the entire inside of the body and doors. Second: I painted the entire inside with Hammerite rust prevention paint. Third: The entire inside of the body was lined with that two sided aluminum stuff with the bubble pack inside. I used spray 3M Adhesive to attach it to the hammerite painted surface. I even did the floors. Fourth: All the hardware was re-installed Fifth: Put the new interior in. This is the fourth 34 Ford that I've done this to and I'm still happy with it for these reasons. #1 It's real quiet #2 It's waterproof (And I drive rain or shine) #3 It gives the doors a real quality sound when closing. #4 Very light weight. #5 I did it myself (And it's invisable, with few places needing a touch of paint) #6. Maybe most important for a dark blue Florida car is that it does not transfer the exterior heat to the inside. (What a cool ride)
