Got my windshield rubber from Drake in two days, great service and the rubber looks really good! Now, to get it installed....does anyone have words of wisdom before I mess up! Thanks Don

Words of wisdom? * Be patient, be very patient. * I believe it goes without saying but just in case... the windshield must be removed from the car. I would not dare attempt to tackle this task any other way. * Be certain ALL traces of old gasket are removed. Don't cheat... ALL of the old gasket has to be out of there! * Install the four corners first. Then install the horizontal sides and finally the vertical sides. * Don't skimp on the lubricant. I prefer (spray) glass cleaner as it will dry up. Soaps will come back to haunt you in the form of bubbles when you wash the car. Do NOT use any type of silicone lubricant and do NOT use any type of sealer.

The cleanliness of the channel can't be over-emphasized.

Per the guy who sold me the windshield for my '39 p/u, glass cleaner only for lubricant. NEVER WD 40. He knew his stuff when it came to old car glass so that was good enough for me.

Use painter's type masking tape to hold in place during install.
