never the coil side. I take it you have converted to 12 volt? if so the idea of a relay to turn on a fuse board is a good one, just used the gauge post for this

If what you mean is that you want to power the wipers and radio through a stock ignition switch, that isn't a real good idea. Those switches can handle the current they were designed for and not much more. A separate switch or using the ignition switch to power a relay would be better.

I installed electric wipers and a converted radio. I want to power both after the ignition switch is turned on. Which contact is better; the coil side or the gauge side or does it matter? Thanks in advance for the responses.
