Al You are in luck. Yesterday I put the dash back in my 42. This one had never been taken out before so I'm pretty sure I have the right fasteners. Along the top are 8 pan head sheet metal screws. In the bottom corners are 1/4" bolts and nuts. Didn't measure them but the pan head screws are probably 1/2" long. Ted

More often than not, the wrong screws have been used during the life of the car. My '47 had both straight and Phillips head screws. Bob Drake sells a complete kit of screws for your car. 800/266-0470. Depending on the model of your car, these kits are under $20.

What kind of screws are used to fasten the dash to the cowl on a 1947 Ford? This car uses the same long screws to attach the dash to the cowl and to attach the window frames to the dash - doesn't seem right. Thanks.
