Autoluke, The 18-12300 is the correct style for either two screw or three screw coils for 1936. It fits both of them. Are you running a coil adaptor on a three screw distributor? Ken in Texas

Regarding Bubba's very knowledgeable advice, what he talks about on the Bubba's Ignition web site with respect to condensers for early V8s is interesting. Apparently there are a lot of garbage parts out there.

I also have received a 78-12300 from C & G, but it arrived without a connecting pig tail...only a female threaded end in the cylinder. The old condenser is a conventional one being smaller than the replacement . Any suggestions as to how to proceed ?

Bubba's also recommended an RR175. I think Kragen/O'Reilly's has them

Aha! Thanks, Tom. It had not occurred to me that I ought to check my inbox. Duh. Looks like my computer skills are still at the techno-peasant level. Ken's PM indicates that an IH-200 condenser, although not identical to the original type, works very well on his 1936 Ford. Ken ........... perhaps you could advise which retailer supplies you with that type of condenser, and who the manufacturer is?

Grant, the security certificate for this web site leaves something to be desired. If I try to go to my inbox directly from my E-Mail, I get the security message. Now I just log on to the Forum and go to my Inbox in order to read my PMs.
