Does anybody know if there is an aftermarket AM/FM radio that bolts into the 40 and runs on 6V/Negative ground system? I don't want to switch to 12v. I could use a converter that enables you to run a 12 radio on 6 volts with polarity switched? Thanks, Phil Swanson

Philip, Do you have an existing stock radio in your car? There are vendors who can add an FM module to an existing radio. Ken

I am not sure if you just made a typo, but your Ford should be POS ground. You do not need a working radio, if you want to have a FM tuner. There are modules that provide the AM/FM radio that can be hooked up to the original 1940 controls in an original 1940 case. A working 1940 radio will cost more than $300 and you can buy a core for much less and have the conversion made. I have no idea of how much the conversion will cost and can't refer you to a vendor that does this.

Yes, it was a typo. Yup, a positive ground, 6 volt system. I would gladly pay $300 for a nice working radio. Anybody know a source for a decent 40 Ford stock radio?

Keep an eye out on e-Bay. hey show up there occasionally. Also if you are a V-8 Club member you can run a free want ad in the V-8 Times. The free ad coupon came with the last mailing of the Times and roster
